Permissions

If you would like to create, edit or delete a permission, select ‘permissions overview’ from the ‘users and rights’ palette  to open the permissions overview tab.

Like many other overview tabs, the permissions overview tab can be divided into three sections:

  • The head (Fig.1, 1) containing the “create a new permission” button and a searchfield.
  • The viewport (Fig.1, 2) containing a listing of all available permissions and the 'edit' and 'delete' buttons.
  • The footer (Fig.1, 3) containing the paging buttons and the refresh button. Here you also can set how many results shall be displayed per page.

Creating a new permission

To create a new permission, use the “create a new permission” button located in the permissions overview tab’s toolbar to open the 'create a new permission' input mask. Enter a name for the new permission and click on the input mask’s 'create' button to finish creating your permission.

Deleting a permission

To delete a group use the delete button delete icon next to the permission's name to delete it.

Note: A deleted permission cannot be restored. Use this feature with caution. 

Editing a permission

When you have created a permission you can start editing the permission. To do so, use the edit button on the right side of the permission you would like to edit.

  • The edit permissions tab has 5 components:
  • The head (Fig.2, 1) containing the permission’s name and description edit fields and the save button.
  • The command-matcher section (Fig.2, 2) where different command-matchers can be assigned.
  • The roles section (Fig.2, 3) where the permission can be added to different roles.
  • The users section (Fig.2, 4) where users can be added to the permission.
  • The groups section (Fig.2, 5) where single groups can be added to the permission.

Editing a permission’s name and its description

Editing a permission’s name or its description is quite simple: select the name field or the description field. Enter a name or the description. After you have finished filling in the description or the name use the save button to save your changes.

Editing a permission’s command matchers

To create or edit a permission’s command matcher, expand the command matcher section by using the ‘expand section’ button expand icon .

The command matcher section contains:

  • The toolbar (Fig.3, 1) with the ‘create’ and ‘delete’ buttons.
  • The viewport (Fig.3, 2) containing the command matcher’s id, bundle, action, etc. and the ’edit’ and ‘delete’ buttons.

To create a new command matcher, use the ‘create’ button to open the input mask for creating a new command matcher (Fig.4). After having filled in the necessary information, use the input mask’s ‘create’ button to finish creating your command matcher. To edit an existing command matcher, use the ‘edit’ button to open the ‘edit command matcher’ mask (Fig.5).

After having done all necessary changes, use the input mask’s ‘save’ button to apply your changes.
