Common tasks

To each of the four higher administrative elements (users, roles, groups, permissions) you can assign elements from the other three categories (e.g. to a user you can assign roles, groups and permissions).

Assigning and removing roles

To assign roles or to remove roles open the roles section by using the ‘expand section’ button .

Afterwards a dropdown will open which shows the assigned roles on the left side (Fig.8.3, 1) and the available roles (Fig. 8.3, 2) on the right side. Now you can assign roles by:

  • Dragging and dropping the role from field 2 (Fig.1, 2) into field 1 (Fig.1, 1).
  • Double clicking on the role's name.

Removing roles works the same way just in the other direction (drag the role from field 1 (Fig.1, 1) into field 2 (Fig. 1, 2) or just double-click on it while it is in field 1 (Fig.1, 1)).

To assign permission or to remove permission groups, expand the groups section by using the ‘expand section’ button .

Assigning permission groups is similar to assigning roles. You can assign groups by:

  • Dragging and dropping the group from field 2 (Fig.2, 2) into field 1 (Fig.2, 1).
  • Double clicking on the group's name.

Removing groups works the same way just in the other direction (drag the group from field 1 (Fig.2, 1) into field 2 (Fig.2, 2) or just double-click on it while it is in field 1 (Fig.2, 1)).

To assign permissions or to remove permissions, expand the permissions section by using the expand section button .

Assigning permissions is similar to assigning groups. You can assign permissions to a user by:

  • Dragging and dropping the permission from field 2 (Fig.3, 2) into field 1 (Fig. 3, 1).
  • Double clicking on the permission's name.

Removing permissions works the same way just in the other direction (drag the permission from field 1 (Fig.3, 1) into field 2 (Fig.3, 2) or just double-click on it while it is in field 1 (Fig.3, 1)).
